Welcome to TFF, FWbarr. You might want to send a PM to Pat Goff ( he hangs out in the boats and motors section) I think he knows that area pretty well, if I'm not mistaken.

Louie, I didnt know you liked to fish saltwater.

Now, Donald...please pick John Bolton for your running mate.

Been going to Rockport for 25 years or so. Nothing like catching some big ole redfish plus everything down there is hungry and seems to always be biting. totally different world down there.

yep, LL is right.

This is the time of year to work over Estes Flats, better a week day than a week end day that's for sure.

Heck Louie, since I like your style in the OT. ( another subject entirely...lol !)....PM me your mailing address. Dont even need your name...and I'll send you some of my super-secret ( not really)..cajun spices to put on those reds when you grill 'em.

Give my recipe a try:

Estes flats is great. Mud island is amazing but only accessible on good days and by boat. Fish near mcdonalds in the ski basin on bad days. Caught 3 drum with last Saturday's front coming in. Copano is great too.

Oh forgot to mention The big fisherman has great food and very affordable for lunch. If you don't mind dropping some coin, go to Charlotte plumbers or the crab 'n. My family has a place there and it's great. Your choices to fish are many and is really a fishing town. No beach bums there, hey are in port a and corpus during spring break. Good luck on your trip!
