I was thinking about picking one up. Has anyone tired them out? Pros and/or cons about the rod. I was looking at the 7M 1/4 to 3/8 for square bills or the 6'8 M. Any feedback would be appreciated.

Thanks

I have both of them. No complaints and I use both of them for shallow water cranks.

I have the 7' heavy for big cranks and the 7' medium for small cranks traps and square bills. Not a bad rod.

Get the 7'. I've had the 6'8" and they're ok but the 7' casts better. I use it for sq bills, traps, and buzzbaits. Decent rod but I'm going to replace it with a Dobyns 704 before next year. I don't care for the large guides on the KVD rods.

I have looked at this rod seriously but I haven't bought one because I wonder about the EVA handles as opposed to cork. KVD says he used a glass/graphite composite to get the flex of glass and the sensitivity of graphite. That sounds good. I don't think the EVA handles transmit feeling as well as cork handles do though so they might cancel out the benefit of the sensitivity the graphite brings to the rod. Any thoughts on this? hmmm

paired up with fluoro the rods are pretty sensitive. Not as sensitive as my Dobyns CB rod but still pretty good.

For the price they seem to that they would be a great rod for cranking. i guess they work for the KVD. I was just worried about the EVA grip not holding up? i have seen other blogs complaining that it is not holding up. Does anyone know or heard about having issues with EVA grips. I wonder if it can be replaced or replaced with cork if needed to down the road.

Thos KVD rods are sensitive. You can feel a lipless crankbait vibrate.
