My one experience with Nichols was a dream come true. Traded them a 88 leadsled for a 01 181 with a 06 Opti. They let me put my new trolling motor and M 68 Lowrance off my old sled, and gave me a new 337 when the one on the Champ would not work correctly. I have never made a better 'trade'..... If you deal with Dana, you be ready to take somethin' home..

I purchased a used Champion from them at the end of 2006. When I picked up the boat they had detailed it, it was full of gas and oil. Dana was a delight to work with.

Dana and Joe, the service manager, are great. I bought a new Ranger from them in January. Their prices are right from the very beginning. They make fair, honest deals. Dana is very nice and will do everything she can to get you the exact boat and setup you want. Buying the boat from them was a great experience.
I got to talk to Gary Nichols, the owner, for a while at the dealership one day. He seemed like a very down to earth, decent person with a regular guy's view of boating/fishing.
Here's a couple good experiences I've had.
The first week I had my boat, Joe called me to double check that cranking batteries had not been accidentally installed instead of trolling batteries for my minn kota because some of batteries in their shop had been shuffled around and the inventory seemed off. I wasn't at home so I couldn't check right then but Joe said call him back if they were wrong he'd bring me new ones. That would have been a 3 hours trip one way. They were the correct batteries but I thought that was really good customer service. Not many people will respond to a problem before a problem exists.
Then, I fished a tournament two weeks later and it was the first time I'd ever plugged in the stern light. Well the light didn't work. I finally figured out the wiring for the light was bad. I called Joe and we decided the wires were probably damaged when they pulled the cables for my side scan transducer. Again Joe offered to come to my house to fix it. I told him that wasn't necessary so he overnighted me a new light assembly.
With all that said, I am a huge fan of Nichols Marine. They sell great boats at great prices. They pay close attention to the little things that add up to make your experience a great one. I intend to go there for all my boating needs.

These are the exact answers I was looking for, I have dealt with shady dealers before that once you buy they kinda no longer care what you want. They have the boat I want now I guess its time to go deal with em. Wanted insight before I did, I will definitely look up Dana and tell her she was highly recommended from tff. Did they use to sell skeeters? They have a skeeter barely used I am looking at.

I bought a used basscat from them and had a issue with the motor 2 wks later brought it back to them and glen spent 5 hrs on repairs. I tried to pay Dana and she said no charge.I would surely buy from them again. Dana has always been super nice to deal with. Sorry glenn went to other side of town.

Not meaning to bash. But i had a wheel bearing go out on my ranger. In the warranty it states that you dont have to touch them for 3 years. Well they told me that it ran out of fluid and it was on me. But I had called ranger that morning and they said it was covered. And I called Nichols before i headed over. Well what i found strange on this is that it was a full half shaft or whatever and cost about $1500. well when i gave nichols my info and boat info they had called ranger as well before I got there. So i walked outside and called ranger warranty back and they told me that they had already given them the approval to fix it. Seemed very strange that the shop said it was not covered even though ranger said it was to them direct. I didnt have to pay anything when I called them out on it. but they could not explain why they were going to charge me $1500 and ranger $1500. Glen seemed like a flake to me. And the whole deal was just bad.

Dana and the entire team at Nichols are top notch. Had them swap motors on my last boat and they did everything right and first class.
Glen is an awesome as well....had a great experience when I worked with them .
Whether you think you can or you can't, you are probably right.

I wish I had the same experience as the rest of yall. I now drive over an hour each way to get service that I expect. I will buy my next boat from a dealer that is interested in more than just a sale.

Did they use to sell skeeters? They have a skeeter barely used I am looking at. I know what boat you are looking at, and it is a gorgeous boat. I don't think they use to sell Skeeters, but they do seem pretty willing to take newer trades.

I am in the market, but may go with the federation boat for the upgrades and price. I am just hesitant in buying a 2 yr old boat that will soon be a discontinued series. Unless they wanna talk deals
