Gig, I've never stayed there but there's a place down Rio Grande City way that some folks have recommended on here before. I know nothing about it other than it's functional and cheap, like $39 a night cheap if I recall. This is south of the dam which is ~ 35 miles from Zapata, so plan accordingly as it relates to eats. You can launch at the State Park. South to mid-lake's where you want to be right now, anyway. I think it's called Falcon Heights Motel or something similar. Or call our friends at Falcon Lake Tackle. They'll know for certain and help you get on the fish when you're down, too.

Coincidence is His way of remaining anonymous.

Falcon Heights Motel is $50 a night. Located just south of the state park about two miles. I believe if you look up the phone number, it is a Lopeno number but, is located in Falcon Heights.

Old PB: 10 lbs. 4 oz Lake Falcon

Roma is only about 12 to 14 miles away. Places to eat there instead of driving all the way back to Zapata. Also can stay at state park for about $30. per night.
