To the nay sayers i respectfully submit that i am an extremely courteous fisherman and i do NOT condone violence however i will defend myself and will not put up with a bunch of inconsiderate half drunk people pushing there way in and expecting me to just take it. I WILL throw a weight directly at your head if that is what it takes to back you off and let you know that i am offended. Please note in the previous post that i did courteously ask the gentlemen not to throw a cast net over my lines and only threw at him after he told me exactly where to go and how to get there!! If you choose to express your shock and outrage over my actions than go ahead but please, dont expect me to move over to make room for you if you choose to act in a rude and discourteous manner. I will ask you pleasantly once. After that i will remind you in whatever manner i see fit that you are being rude, offensive, obnoxious, discourteous, or just plane pig headed. I love to fish with everyone but i hate the offensive bullies that inhabit some lakes. Please be courteous to everyone and they will be courteous to you. Sorry for the rant.

the op reminds me of one of my friends.... we will be cruising down the lake on plane, and come up on a guy fishing.... He always wants us to slow down and back off on the throttle....

The thing is, the only time we are going to make a smaller wake than what we are throwing then, would be if we came to a complete idle, OR sped up!

I would much rather have a bass boat fly by me at 60mph than them slow down to 15 or 20....

boats throw wakes, its what they do. But just because someone is hauling butt by u, doesnt mean they are being rude... in fact, it is usually the best option.

I am so glad this forum is the promised land....i mean,it must be because it has been blessed by a saint who always knows exactly how everyone should live and believes it his/her right to judge as such. To state an opinion is our right and sometimes responsibility ,but to judge someone else's ,well......, aint none of our bidness!

Someone may rattle my boat with a wake or actually get into my lines but you know what? I'm fishing and I'm just not going to let it mess up my day! My worst day fishing is better than my best day working! I've had my share of encounters with inconsiderate people....but like Ron says: "You can't fix stupid!" When a stupid act is committed by an idiot that offends someone with a short fuse.....something really bad is bound to happen. Hope I never see it on the water.
Life is short...Why waste it on sweating the small stuff?
