Making a trip to San Miguel (Sammy Gill) area of Toledo Bend next week during spring break. I'm taking my son and my nephew, and neither of them have caught crappie in the spawn. Was hoping to hook them up!!!!

Has anyone been out there, or have any input on the crappie in this area of the lake?

It's not the size of the dog in the fight, it's the size of the fight in the dog.

Toledo Bend has the fattest {wide shoulders} crappie I've ever seen but I haven't been there in years. Huge brim too that fight pound for pound better than any fish I know. Yall are in for a treat.

Had a close friend go last week and caught 72 nice crappie upq to 17". He and his partner caught them in front of the islands in a larg pine thicket in out ft of water. Lots of boats so not hard to find. Lemmondrop roadrunner jigs did the trick.

We have been doing well all over the lake. Find boathouses with brush, brush in 8 to 12' of water. We have been fishing Pirates Cove, Palo Gaucho and Clarice Creek. We had 40 big fish in Clarice Creek this afternoon. We were long line trolling in 8' to 12' of water.

I assume you are talking about the islands in front of State Park? Thanks for the help!
