I currently have a 997 mounted in the dash. I know a 10 won't fit there, but was wondering if anyone has mounted one near the console. Most of the ones I've seen on other boats are mounted in a bracket on the cap. The Basscat cap is fairly triangular near the console, and doesn't appear to have a good surface to mount to. Any suggestions?

Go to www.bassboatcentral.com and post this question on the BassCat forum they have there. I seem to remember pictures of someone doing that.

Bit Man, I was barely computer literate enough to register on yuku, and completely helpless on trying to post there. I know there'd be someone on the bcb site who could help, I'm just having trouble with the whole yuku thing. I don't remember it being that hard to post. I'm sure I'm missing something simple, what is it this time?

Tommy Yetts at Rockwall Marine should be able to give you any options that are available. I know on the 2011 Cougar FTD were going with a HDS8.

Yeah, but she wouldn't sit still long enough to get a good reading.

Yeah, I put the big ram mount on the inside of the boat above the master power switch. I took out the flip up cleat that is positioned there and only had to drill one more hole and then put stainless bolts to hold the ram ball. Now I can just take the ram mount and the unit on and off and it sits right there to the right of the console yet is still enough inside the boat to be protected. Sorry I don't have a picture of it though. Its the big ram mount with the 2 inch ball and about a 7 inch extension. My boat is an 06.
