Hey guys, I am looking for a new boat and i was likng the new nitro's because of the price but many people told me to find a used boat with a better name. I found an 2003 Skeeter ZX250 in awsome condition. It is 21ft long with a yahama 250hp on it. This boat is very clean and almost looks new! I am really thinking about getting it. If any of you guys have any reviews for these boats please let me know. I know that skeeter is a very good boat just want to hear some reviews before i purchase it.

The ZX250 is a great boat and as long as it is in good condition you can't go wrong.

If the motor is an HPDI, make sure you get a full history on it's service. I believe there was a recall on the oil pump. Also be ready to spend apprx $150/yr on filters (if you install them yourself).

What kind of hours are you talking about when spending that much on fuel filters? Is this amount due to it being the HPDI model? Just curious as I am looking at ZX225's as well.

Changing the 3 filters on an HPDI will probably take you 1.5 hours the 1st time you do it but after you get over the learning curve it should only take 30-40 minutes max. These should be changed annually.

You will also want to install a Yamaha water separator filter if it does not already have one. This filter should be changed every 50 hours. Costs around $20.
