The Bud Light Fork tourney Commerce Division# 3 was Sunday. Turned out that overnight lows in the 30's, "used" tourney waters of day before and high bluebird skies were not about to stop the bass!

There were only 33 teams that fished BUT the top 14 teams all had weights that would have cashed the day before in a 250 team event.
It took 10.33 just to cash a check in the fest of fish.
Most reports were of 30 to 50 fish days with 10 or better slots. Most of the guys had the standard jerkbait, plastic and rattletrap combos tied on. However, the rumor was that the rattletrap didn't play much for anyone.

I heard the 3rd place team talking about having one "small" one in their bag. And these guys had 10.66!

The only team not to have a limit had an over. Not sure how that always seems to happen but it does. Most teams wore out the cull rings, cull em rites and beams all day long!
I saw Carl Vessel fishing and he probably caught ten fish on 20 casts from 2:15 to 2:30 and culled four or five fish in minutes. Also caught three or four slots in 5 minutes. He was just wearing em out! Trust me I picked up the ol smithwick while he schooled me.

Calling this a slugfest does not do it justice. Fork was on! Just a day when the whole lake was a beast. There have been some great tourneys at Fork over past couple years.

The JCO event last month took 9.40 to get paid.
The April 2010 Media event took 9.97 to cash and,
The March 2010 BC took 9.82 to cash.

Certainly impressive was last years Super Teams where Chuck & Mark had over 12lbs of unders to win and it took 9.7 to cash,

BUT when it starts taking 10plus to get paid, People are catching fish! It may all be true that an over or the right unders are all luck. I kind of agree, but anytime 14 teams have 9lbs or better, it wasn't luck they busted em.

Congrats to all and I think everyone was lucky to fish yesterday!!

Congrats on cashing David. Fork is gearing up big time for the spawn, nothing will stop em now. Media this weekend and JCO on the 19th (the March full moon) will be on like donkey kong. Few lakes in the nation will offer the amount of action this 27,000 acres will.

Be Blessed
Mark

I wouldnt mind having a limit of "overs" out there if laws allowed that is.
