There a difference in being a great angler on many lakes then a great angler on one lake. I know some guys that are great anglers on one or two lakes. Take them to some different lakes and they suck as bad as I do.

If any of you have any doubt of how good Scot Dean is let me tell you a story. Scott and I traveled together to fish a tourny on Clarkhill in GA. It was probably 40 degrees that morning and neither of us has ever seen the lake, except on TV. The lake was 20' low so scott and I had to launch way in the back of this cove and it was a big cove. Scott and I were idaling out getting ready to get on pad and he's looking at his electronics and says humm, that looks like fish. We haven't been on the water maybe 10min. Scott stops and gets out a drop shot and about his 2nd cast is putting 3lber's in the boat. So I follow and get my drop shot and I start catching fishing. I thought, no wonder I can never beat this guy in a tourney. I just couldn't believe it. Never been on the lake and within 10min putting fish in the boat. How unreal is that, talk about good.
Thanks,

Please take Brandon Putnam off the list. There are many anglers who deserve to be ahead of me on the list.
I did not see Brett Killingsworth on the list.

In my humble opinion what about the guys that taught half on these guys how to tournament fish ? Brad Brister, Johhny Jenkins, jimmy Smith, Jay Petty, Ric Foreman, Bobby Cole, Don Kuyendal, Paul Kirk and many more. Some of the names on this list are a joke. I'm talking about local guys with 30-40 years of proven tournament money in their pockets. What about a hand for the old guys.

I think it should be based on how many tournaments a year are fished and results in those tourneys. I mean most of the sticks on the list fish Stren, Champs, Media, Bud Light. I just think there is a difference in a true grinder fisherman and a internet/product pusher fisherman.
Maybe not......

In my opinion, top 100 is impossible to calculate. First off, half the guys on the list were just mentioned cause they are on a forum alot or something. My name was nominated and i would like it removed. Im nowhere near the top 100. I think if it were top 10, it would be alot better. There are not 100 overall anglers that you can make a claim for. I think there are only 10 or so texas anglers that are consistant on all lakes that they fish. Not the one or two that they live close to and jackpot. Names like Scott Dean, Stephen Johnson, and Kieth Combs pop out at me. Most everyone else are just locals that can undoubtably fish and are much better than myself but capitalize on knowing one or two lakes well. There are tons of guys like that and there is no way to ever rank them.

All of the folks who feel there is no way to name a "no kidding" TOP 100 are CORRECT! There is NO WAY!
Historical Anglers, Current Anglers, and Favorite Anglers are all represented here. This is great!
Thanks for your inputs. John

Then do a Texas Top 100 Favorite Anglers, and cut the list you have by 75%.
