I know Choke Canyon has some in it. I saw one there 9 or 10 years ago sunning itself on the bank. It was about 10-12 ft long.

I'll vouch for the alligators @ Fork. Saw one cruising the main channel of Little Caney Creek two years ago. Either that or telephone poles swim rather briskly. As for big moccisans, there is one in residence in the back of a cove in Murrell Park on Grapevine. Probably make five feet easy. Yep it's one of the bad boys/girls. Ya don't tug on Superman's cape, ya don't spit into tha wind and ya don't pull the mask off the old Lone Ranger and ya don't play with moccasins. (just be glad ya can't hear me sing that) lol
He leadeth me beside still waters.

I have seen gators in the 15/16 foot range in the Trintry River below Lake Livingston. I would have to get out of the water. Smaller ones don't scare me.Actually we scare them.SG
Theres only two kinds. Good ole big'ems. And big ole good ems.

During the BASS Federation on Livingston this year I saw a gator that was as least 15 foot long and was so big around she must have just eating a big deer. It's hard to fish with that big brusier laying on the bank 20 t 30 feet away. Jeff

I have to agree with fishbrain on this one. Cottonmouths are a short and fat snake. Any water snake that you see is that long is not a cottonmouth, but some type of non poisonous water snake.

Right on, brother Wayne! Just did a search for stories about fishermen (not just tubers) being attacked by gators, and guess what--zippo. While I would probably be a bit nervous floating around some of those Florida swamps, this definitely seems to be a bit of unfounded feaar. Now, Nile crocs, on the other hand....

I to have heard of the fork gators I work with a person who guides there and he has told me about him. In reply with the "Squaw Creek", that is the best darn lake ever, its a shame it has come to this where no one can fish it anymore.
Happy Fishing To All And To All A Good Night!!
