I want to know if anyone knows any good camping and fishing places. I want to take my buddy out this weekend but besides camping I want to CATCH fish. Any suggestions would be great. I'm in Rowlett and dont mind doing a little traveling. I don't have a bot this will be a bank fishing trip. If anyone knows of someone who would let us stay at thier place and fish a private tank I wouldn't mind spending a little money or doing some work in exchange to fish and camp. We are both drug free and respect the landowners rules and will clean up after ourselves.

Politicians, baseball players, high-powered corporate CEO's they all seem to eventually let us down. Nature, however, does not. Look to her for inspiration and you will learn the secrets to living a good life. The most Important lesson it would seem is to make sure you spend as much time fishing as anything else.

Here's a great place. Not private, but a great little lake with little fishing pressure.

Try Cooper Lake. They have a good state park with clean showers and you can catch good Hybrids and sandies from the bank.

About to break out my camping gear and enjoy the weather, looking to stay with in an hour to an hour and a half from Carrollton. Looking for a good woodsy camp ground that one could catch a few crappie at.

Went up to Eisenhower this past weekend, so no kid friendly nor adult beverage friendly either, 30-40 ft cliff faces, made for a nice view. Needless to say w/ an 8, 6, and 2 yr old I need something a bit safer.

I've been hitting up the Little Elm park area for the past 3 weekends with my boys, not a nibble unfortunately, I'm pitching jigs and the kids are using bobbers and minnows.

Going to get out there again this next Saturday at the break of dawn, I've tried the south east side of the 720 bridge, tried the hikers path on the opposite side of the playground, followed it clockwise and hit up a few spots till you get to the point w/ the gazebo deal.

From there I'm picking up a Texas Wildlife State Pass from ray roberts, will then scout out campsites there, any branch better then the others? Jordan, Johnson, etc...

How about the Greenbelt area on 380 just west of 377 on the after you pass the bridge on the north side?

Thanks for the help.

Have you tried Isle Du Bois State Park on Ray Roberts? There's a fishing pier there, and also a nice cove on the south side that the COE has sunk tires and stuff to attract the Crappie.

Also try the park at Lake Cooper. Lots of great catfishing on that lake.

There's a fine line between fishing and sitting on the water looking like a darn fool.

We always enjoyed Purtis Creek State park. They even have a lighted fishing pier on the camp ground side of the park.

the state park closest to the denison dam of lake texoma is good. you feel more like an "isolated" world their with close access to fishing piers

Enjoy the beauty of nature

Thank ya ma'am, we actually got 13 white's this weekend, fried them up last night with some french frys. Between my bunch and the neighbor, who I traded off a plate for more oil, I only got 3 or so pieces.
