Don't know how old this is, but electronics have changed

All fishermen are legends in their own minds! Ranger Boats, Yamaha Outboards, Humminbird Electronics,Motor guide, and all the tackle in the world.

That's pretty funny. But I think using fish finders is cheating. Half the fun of fishing is finding the fish, fish finders subtract 50% of the fun level.

my thoughts exactly...i use one so i can know if i'm too shallow, incase a bunch of stumps start showing up, etc....i will start to use it after a while of no fish to find better places to fish (especially for crappie) if i can't find em'

If you think pulse sonar is cheating, what must you think of side scan sonar and underwater cameras?

lol I don't know how you could say that. When the guy using his electronics is pulling in 30+ fish and you are still looking that would be fun? loco

Yup
Even bank anglers (like me) have access to Fish Finders:

lol, I know some old fella is going to say: "Back in my day, we did it all just by looking at the weather"

Is invisible fluorocarbon line cheating too? The fish still have the upper hand no matter what tools we use. Just because you've found them doesn't mean they will bite. It takes skill, and a bit of luck to get them to bite.

That looks like a mid 70's model. My dad bought one in '72 and it was a little plainer than that one. I remember thinking that fish would jump in the boat. Not quite. It took year or two to figure it out. Once we did we sure caught alot more fish

I have two flashers on my boat. One on the bow and one on the console. You would be surprised how well you can read the "grass" with these. I'm 52 so I don't think I quite qualify as a dinosaur.
