I was watching the recorded shows of the Classic I have on DVR. The 2nd round they were showing footage from a helicopter. Is it just me or was it just crazy? Two boats were headed one direction side by side with about a 50 yard gap between them sided to side and from front to back and a boat come from the left (perpendicular) to the two boats going the same direction another boat splits right between them crossing paths. Anyone else see this? Thoughts?

I thought it was awesome. Didn't look like either boat checked-up either. Like a game of chicken with 140 mph closing rate.

However, the guy that split those two boats (guy coming from the left of the screen) should have probably gotten a visit from the game warden because that was friggin dangerous.

I saw it. I was at the classic in Birmingham AL where G-Man got DQ'd for something like that. That was a bad call in my opinion, but anyway, yes I saw that and wondered why the spectator boat didn't get some kind of ticket for unsafe boating.

I saw it. I wonder if it was pros or spectators?

Yeah that was nuts. I was surprised there weren't any comments about it on the broadcast.

Does any one know when the reruns are? My DVR didn't record all of the 3rd round.

And illegal. He was the yield boat.

Awesome? More like stupid.

ya almost looked like it was staged to me , way to close for that kind of speed. But some people are crazy with the speed of some boats . i was almost t-boned 2 years ago in Mcdonalds Toun. on fork by crazy driver with 300 hp Skeeter.

It was staged. You can test drive skeeters at the classic im sure it was the demo boats. Looked awesome i thought.

Dangerous? Yes Unsafe? Maybe Crazy? No Way.

Now if there truely was a spectator boat involved obviously all bets are off.... But what are the Anglers to do? Check up and idel everytime a boat comes their way on plane just in case it happens to be a spectator?

I think we tend to forget that these pros are not only anglers but professional boat drivers as well...

Staged or not, I believe the speeds were exaggerated. If you go back and watch it again, you can see where they start off at regular speed and then they turn up the speed of the film. I'm not saying it was or wasn't safe, but the speed was exaggerated.
