Bob Brister wrote in the Texas Sporting Journal Summer 2004, about his magic donut or tube....

I have a couple of them, but a buddy of mine and I were talking the other day about a weekend of tube fishing at this ranch. WE started out in canvas covered truck inner tubes...Does anybody make the ones out of innertubes anymore, or is everything that plastic vinyl stuff?

Most of the "donut" type can be converted to a 16 inch truck tube but almost all of them now come with a pvc bladder

I tried a old tube this weekend for the first time. It was awesome! I have never really tube fished alot, but it performed well enough for me.

I have taken and put a 20 inch truck tire in my tube cover. It seems to fill and tighten the cover much better.

I got one with a truck tube made by Abilene Tent and Awning in, naturally, Abilene TX. It is by far the best tube I have ever owned. Desert Camo.
