.....I cannot believe that at this time of year there is no good luck at this spot, I always catch without the spillway running im telling you about 1-2 foot down bobber minnow, also red and chart. jigs, the funny thing is I can watch my jig and watch the crappie come up and blow up on it..that is how "deep" my jig is running barley 2 or 3 inches off the top.. but don't get it wrong I have been there many times at first and caught 0...the key is the shore and they are like unbelivable close to it..6 inches off shore no b.s ever since then if you go in between the tree on your left and the bend to the spill on the right walk that shoreline back and forth and just tear em..also the game warden waiting at the fence to check fishing licenses tells everybody that this is no trespassing site.. or else people would have got fat TICKETS... I am going in the middle of the week I will post pics wink sorry guys if I led you to something not worthwhile..

i think lack of water due to no rain and cold front have something to do with slow fishing... Animals knows in advance and react before they get hit. Otherwise, based on the reports, it looks to be a promising spot for crappie. But, what i like to know is where and what kinds water is being released from? I looked at the bing map, and it was very muddy water pouring into the creek.

Ok so just got back from heading out there for a few hours. Water was releasing today and the creek looked totally different than last night but fishing was still slowwww.. Caught maybe 5 dink crappie by the spillway at the left bend close to shore on bobby garland blue ice and a white roadrunner. Took some pics of what the creek looked liked today.

Perfect pics. Brought back the memory of trying to get over and under those fallen trees in the kayak. HAHA. It's a nice little creek though. Might head out there this afternoon or if everyone's still going in the morning I might just go then.

remember what i said...the spillway needs to be flowing heavily. its just trickling according to the pics. you'll know if its coming out heavy. the water is not usually muddy. its usually clear. not sure where its coming from. i don't think its ray roberts.

It was definitely flowing hard today. I was there yesterday when it was just trickling. Today though the spillway was flowing heavily.

Thanks for posting pics. Hearing the description of the creek really made me want to see pics. I see were a kayak would be pretty useless do to the logjams. I do see some great crappie water I must say.

Nice pics, thanks for posting..looks like the water is on the rise there since I was used to standing right next to the tree that is now submerged.. def. a promising spot & prob. due to recent weather it just needs about 2 more weeks to settle.. hey at least you caught dinks..thats also a good sign <--- better then not catching anything. Hope it gets better down there.

Thanks 422, I went out this morning at 7 till 9 only ended up with 2 but one was 13 and the other one was 10. I was happy with that.It was cold but it proves that they are in there. It is nice to have a place to fish not to far away from the house.
