I am going to host a fun tournament for a fundraiser. It is going to be a few good friends that I can trust, so honesty shouldn't be an issue. I don't have access to scales, and I want to attract as many of these friends as possible. I am looking at the following format, but want some advice. Here's the idea. Each of the game species will be assigned points. LMB are 5, catfish 5, white/sand/yellow bass 1, crappie 2 (or something similar). Each time you catch a fish you take a picture of it on measuring board to prove it was a legal keeper. You can catch a limit of any species, but no more. Basically, it will mean if you catch a limit you get 25 point. You bring your pictures to the dock at finish time. whoever gets the most points wins. No need for scales, weigh in, live well, dead fish.

Can I make this work? Any suggestions?

That would be a fun tournament format. Some of my buddies have been thinking about something like that for a annual get together and tournament we have....Also, if you're into it, maybe release the LMB and bring the other fish in for a fish fry.

TXFishes does that tournament just about every year, lol, for the last four or five years. Usually beginning the first day of spring, and lasting till the first day of Summer.

Our Standard tournament is the Multi-species tournament, which is won by the angler who catches the largest amount of total species.

But each year we also had a points per species/fish contest featuring a different sort of lure.

In the past we had a Roadrunner Tournament ( Which I won, hehe. ) and last year we had a Clouser Fly Tournament.

The traditional multi-species tournament should be starting up within a month or so, and later in the year, be on the look out for our Single Lure Multi-species contest.

I love this idea. My dad and I fish alot together and have talked about making this something we do for fun, going for a "grand slam". Sounds like a blast.

A few bars and fire dept. around the house have these. The local fisherman get so excited about these. They attract hundreds of fisherman. Very successful events. Good luck
