a big weightless lizard. just toss it out, let it sink, and watch your line!

The nastiest looking creature bait u can find. Either weightless or stick a split shot about 12" above the bait. They'll destroy it!

Lizards are one of my favorites for fishing spawning fish in general. Be sure to wear some polarized sunglasses. Try bright colors too. You can watch your bait easier and watch the fish slurp them in. Have also had great success with creature baits and craws. If its a little windy peg a 1/8 ounce bullet to the nose and hold on

Believe it or not I had great luck with with slow rolling a buzz bait. I could actually see fins sticking out of the water they were up so hallow.

Some males that were about to start fanning beds were taking black/blue senkos for me today.
Can't go wrong w/ lizards though.

I've been catching them with jigs with a grub or craw trailer. Use a heavy line too 20 pound test or larger
whiskey bent and hellbound

I caught about a 5 pounder on pond across street. I was watching her on her bed for about 2 weeks. I threw everything but tackle box....I threw a beaver at the bed and she swam off, only to come back, see the beaver and hammered it to get it off her bed.
good times.

My best bet is always a green pumpkin senko or a zoom speed craw.....
