I actually caught a few bass in this muddy hole on Wednesday. They wern't anything to show off, but I didn't think fish existed out there. They took a willow leaf, white/green spinner bait at dusk. Has anyone else had success and/or failure here?

fished there twice. Caught a few fish, but nothing to brag about like you said. Biggest was probably 2.5 to 3 lbs.

Hey sweadock, try a blk/blu finesse jig with matching blk/blu Zoom swimming chunk. Just pitch it around anything you find in the water. I used to start at the big floating barge and fish all the way around. I would alternate with a crankbait of choice. In the spring the fish stack up and bed along the bank that is lined with bricks. This is the bank directly in front of the concession stand with the paddle boat dock. There are some NICE fish in there. Im not sure about the 11lb'r that diawa is talking about but I did catch one a shade over 10 almost that many years ago. My highschool buddy caught one close to 7 that same day. The man that was running the concession stand at the time called the newspaper and we got our picture's put in it. Both fish were caught off of a junebug Zoom centipede fished with a split-shot on front of it. Before I moved to Arlington I fished it pretty regularly. I caught a HUGE channel cat on a Manns baby 1-. I would guess it close to 15lb's. Also got my picture in the paper with that one. Also fish that jig in the floating vegitation down by the red bridge and along the bank behind the movie theatre. Also throw a white/char Hildebrandt spinner bait with #6 colorado blade. Base the blade color on clarity of water and weather. Fish the windiest bank and burn that blade just under the water. Writing this is bringing back alot of memories. You can also throw a small carolina-rig or split-shot rig standing on the concrete culvert in front of the big fishing barge. I like to use a 4" green pumpkin lizard dipped in chartruese dye. There are alot of rocks in the water there. You will feel them when you drag your rig. When you get tired of fishing there you can try the tanks at Stonebridge. I already posted about them a couple of days ago under my old name. Let me know how you do and what worked best for you. I need to make a trip back that way and fish my old stomping grounds. I just might go visit my mom and give them a try. Sorry for the long post just trying to help out. Oh and watch the snakes. There are a pretty good number of them. Later.

Thanks for the info. I went again Sat. night, but didn't catch anything. I only had my char/white spinner with me and only fished the southwest part of the lake. I'll be back for sure sometime this week and will try a few of your suggestions.

I've only fished one of the tanks at Stonebridge. Its the one just north of Eldorado on Lake Forest. I've heard you have to be a resident of Stonebridge to fish them, but a city council memeber told me they receive city funds to maintain them and any one should be able to fish. Does anyone know the official word?

Just fish them all you want and dont leave any trash around. I was never a resident and fished them for over 15 years with no problem. The people of Stonebridge had those signs put up to keep every Tom,Dick and Harry from comming out there and making it trashy. What that council person told you is true. Later
