Thanks again for all the replies.
My boat is currently in storage a few hours away so I can't check out my Humminbird to see what the Navionics maps of RR and Fork look like. My map data is 3 years old now. Anyone know if the boat lanes are shown on the Navionics maps for either lake. I'm guessing main lake yes and creeks no. I have a Martins map of RR ordered and it should be here tomorrow. I know we'll be going slow until we learn the way through to the backs of the coves. When we used to fish fork the creek channels were marked with jugs and stuff tied to trees, is it still marked that way?

Thanks for all the fast replies guys! Any idea of the water temps in the backs of the north facing coves right now? I was in Indian creek on Ray Roberts yesterday and was funding 60 degree water

At Fork, the boat lanes are marked. They replaced and added quite a few buoys last year. Just stay close to the buoys and then idle when you get out of the buoyed boat lanes. With Fork over 3 foot low, a high percentage of the stumps are visible now so I am hitting very few at idle and I trim up to bounce off of those at idle. Lance Vick has a boat lane chip that adds several important boat lanes that are not marked by buoys. http://www.boatlanes.com/ Just be careful going up Lil Caney, I would suggest idling after you see the orange cone on a stump in the boat lane;) There are still folks running all the way up there but the pucker factor is there for sure.

If you want to avoid the crowds, then definitely go to Ray Bob and spend a day on the water with Dannie Golden. He put us on some serious fish in April last year and it was EASY fishing. Our best 5 went something like 27-28# that day and included a 7+. Also, the grass has made a HUGE comeback on that lake and I expect 2011 to be a banner year. A buddy of mine (Delvec on TFF) fished out there last week and said he caught 23 fish up to 5# with a bunch in the 2-3# range. You for sure want to get on Dannie's books, He told me today he is on them. Chris, Lil Brother an I only fished a 1/2 day that day. Call me so we can go beat up on Dannie's fish.
