There's a pond in Flower Mound on the south side of what is Corporate in Lewisville (don't know the Flower Mound name). There's a little park area there and a school nearby. Anyone ever fish it? Any luck?

if you are refering to the pond by the tennis courts and the indoor pool, there is good cat fishing and plenty of perch.

yeah he's right, plentry of bluegill, I have never caught any bass in there, I think there are some carp there too, I was there a couple of weeks ago and some kids pulled in a 3lb blue cat using a hot dog as bait.

Where are these ponds at now? Anyone got directions, or know what road it's on so I can find out? Sounds like an interesting place, especially if it's got some big cats, and especially especially if it's got some carp!

You're not talking about Rheudasil lake/park are you? Anyone see any carp in there?

Forest Vista or something like that??? I think that is the street that crosses corporate. But if you are talking about that pond to the south of corporate that has a little play ground on the south side and two other very small ponds on the north side of corporate then yes I have fished it. In the large pond (south of corporate) I was fishing for cats with hotdogs and got lots of action, mostly very small cats that were almost black in color. I did also catch some very small bass on my fly pole near the reeds and at the ponds across the street, there are more bluegill than you can shake a stick at. Thats were I tend to go when I need a fly fishing fix

DHFisher, that's the spot I'm talking about. I wasn't aware of any tennis courts or indoor pool nearby so I think maybe home_built is referring to another pond.

I'm not too interested in catfish or carp, but when my boy gets a little older those bluegill could be lots of fun. wink Can an 18 month old fish? laugh

Dragon-
I have not seen any carp in there (Rheudasil). I bet there are.... There are some decent catfish and I think that is one of the ponds that are stocked with trout in the winter months.

Keep 'dem lines tight and enjoy the fight....!

You are right about the Trout and yes that would be an excellent place to catch some bluegill. Especially the farthest pond to the north (on the north side of the road of course). There is a small bridge on that pond (north side) that people go to feed the fish. Those bluegill and catfish are just waiting there waiting for anything to fall in the water. To get there, just park by the large pond and walk across the street.

And Shane, I don't think anyone is to young to fish(as long as momma don't find out!!!)
Good luck

DH - The small "black" catfish you're talking about are most likely Black Bullhead. Usually really small, world record size is like, 5 pounds lol. Tend to be very aggressive, but usually fairly poor fighters, not like channel cat. But like all catfish they do make good eating, if you don't mind cleaning them.

I've been to that pond a few times, haven't fished it yet though. Those smaller ponds across the street are definitely full of bluegill, probably some bass too. Ever see any cats of anything of any size there? I know that they've stocked it with channels too, at least the larger pond. I'd be most interested in if they were carp, as lately I've been bored with the "weaker" fish lol.

(Reudasil),is a great pond. I used to fish it every day and there are some good spots with big bass.I just caught my personal best out of there about 2 months ago (9 1/2 lbs.) I got a boat and started fishing lakes so im willing to give up all my spots.theres a big sewer drain about ten yards in the water by the big tree right by the play ground. and one of the best spots is on the north side by the dam, theres a big point that comes off on the east side of the creek and goes to the other side of the land. best lures are watermelon red Zoom speed worms texas rigged, and lots of strike king rattle traps in silver blue back,or red.I hope this helps, it should be good fishing through the fall.

From Lewisville go west down main street to morris road and take a left. go down past forest wood middle school to forest vista and take a right. you will see the big pond on the left.

So Reudasil is the same pond that I've been talking about then? I thought they were referring to some other pond over on Timbercreek.

I wouldn't have expected that pond to have a large bass in it...especially not 9 1/2 pounds large. That's a BIG fish.
