Monday is my last day of work until late July. I need to do some fishing! Nighttime, daytime, anytime! Anyone getting out? I understand that the Grassland lakes are way up ('bout time!), but look a bit chocolatey. Ray Bob, Purtis Creek, or Palestine City Lakes might be good. As soon as they settle down a bit, the Hubbard City Lakes will also be getting a visit. Reply here or shoot me an email, and we'll hook up!

I would be interested in going to Purtis early in the week if that works for you. Let me know if you are interested. I may be able to talk Terry into going as well.

I can go to Purtis every other wednesday, and all thursday, friday and saturday. I live two blocks from Cedar Creek, and that is where I usually go.

Sounds good. Is Wednesday good for you, too, Wes, or is Tuesday better? I could get out there early either day--would just have to get home by about 5 or so.

Anyone up for maybe hitting Ray Bob this afternoon/evening?

Wes and I are going to be at Purtis Creek Tomorrow (Monday) night and will camp and fish Tuesday as well. We will probably do some night fishing late Monday night. We might even stop at Cedar Creek on the way down to catch a few crappie for dinner. We prefer earlier in the week because more storms are predicted Tuesday night through Friday. Give me a call on my cell if anyone wants to join us any time from Monday afternoon through Tuesday. (903)780-3499

fishbrain,

Would you be interested in just meeting Terry and I on Tuesday morning? We are camping Monday night and probably doing some night fishing. Hope to see you out there.

Wes and Terry,

I'll give you a shout this evening on the cell phone. I hope to be able to come out in the morning--I'll check and see when the ranger will open the gate. Talk to you later!

Really enjoyed meeting and fishing with you yesterday. Hope you were able to catch some more after we left. Lets do it again some time.

Wes and Terry,

I enjoyed meeting you two guys. I wish the fish had been more cooperative, but that's how it goes. I did stick a couple of schoolers early in the afternoon. They popped up about 10 feet in front of me a couple of times chasing shad! Very cool!

Friday evening/night, I think N2fishin1 and I are hitting the Grasslands, probably Clear Lake. Let me know if you want to hook up. That goes for anyone else!

Hey Randy, just noticed your post. I am moving to Denton at the end of this month and have never fished Ray Bob (sad I know) Be glad to take my rig out there if you can help me avoid the stumps! It will have to be on the weekend, can't play hooky from my new job for a while. I went down to Hubbard a couple of weeks ago, and it was one of my worst trips ever out there. The water was clear again, the grass was everywhere but I could not get bit, my partner caught one 8" bass and that was it. I'll be in touch!...BL

Randy,

I would love to make a trip out to the grasslands, but I really need to focus on preparing for my USMLE Board Exams coming up. Let me see how productive today and tomorrow are in terms of studying, and I might be able to make a quick trip. Call me Friday to let me know where/when you guys are going. (972)313-3741

Wes and I really had a good time at Purtis, it was too bad that Tuesday morning was not like Monday night. I had those schoolers pop up a couple of times around me and it really gets your heart racing. Were the bass you caught unusually large for schooling bass? I caught two that were about 6 and 4 lbs. Usually the schooling bass I catch are smaller.

Later,
Terry
