I did the Herculiner kit and it was $100.00. I love it and as far as weight, I used almost a gallon so it added about ten pounds.

you can get many different colors, that wont be slick, and will last alot longer than carpet and probably weigh just as much

I restored my bass tracker and instead of wood flooring we used aluminum. And at the time we did spry in bed liners so we sprayed it ourself. We used a light grey color and then add a little bit of black dimond sand to it. The product we sprayed was like rhino liner and it does get slick when wet. So the sand helps alot. It's alil hard on bare knees but its not bad. So far after a year of fishing with it, it's held up very well. Alil faded though. Which will happen with any bed liner product.

Line-x is alil tougher and rougher than rhino. Rhino is more pliable but alittle slicker when wet. Line-x can be color matched with stuff unlike rhino. With rhino you just get a choice of some general colors.

Bedliner is heavy. So depending on who does it and how thick they apply it will determine how much weight it adds.

All-in-all after we got done decking our boat in aluminum and bed liner it weighed less then when it had wood and carpet.

I just got thru having this exact conversation with a buddy of mine earlier this week. He works in a shop that does truck accessories, bed liner, carpets, etc. I was thinking about replacing carpet in the floor of the boat, but he asked me what I thought about putting bed liner in the bottom instead. I asked him if it would be slick when wet; he said it would not. He said it would feel more tacky than slick, which would make the footing even better than wet carpet. I worked out a deal with him where, next time he does a truck bed and has liner left over, we'll take the carpet out of the bottom of my Champion and put liner on. If I like it, we may do other sections of the boat deck.

Could you use Line-X for a keel guard? I have my pickup bed and tool box Line-Xed and the stuff is really great.

It is slick when wet. Rhino more so than line-x. And the older it gets the slicker it gets because it gets harder with age. That's why we put some sand in ours to give it some grip.

And also, if you have wood decking, don't bedliner it. It's hard to get the bedliner to stick and it will promote the wood to rot faster.

I had a BassCat Pantera a few years ago that the previous owner had removed the carpet and rhino lined the floor in black. The boat weighed a ton, in the corners the lining would crack and take fiberglass and gel coat right off the floor. The heat on your feet in the summer was unbearable, didnt matter what type of shoes you were wearing, your feet would feel it. I got rid of the boat real fast. Good luck.
