I went to the body of water off of preston(behind the 7-11) I only caught 1 fish, but she was very healthy and weighed between 4 and 4.5 pounds. There were a couple of youngsters fishing too. One of them caught one that weighed a little over 3 pounds. He was so excited. I don't know how he managed to reel that fish in. He had have been using a size 1 hook and a plastic worm that was about 2.5 inches long and a Zebco reel. He told me it was the biggest fish he was ever caught. Way to go young man!

Just curious... what time of day were you fishing? Were you fishing along the banks or deeper?
John 5:24 Very truly I say to you, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life, and does not come into judgment, but has passed from death to life.
1Peter 3:18 For Christ also suffered once for sins, the righteous for the unrighteous, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh but made alive in the spirit.

I got out there at 7:30pm or so. Fishing on the bank and casting to the opposite bank. My fish hit right in the middle of the river, or what ever that body of water is considered. Soft plastic worm.

I went back this afternoon and caught 7 bass. I think 2 of them were spotted bass. Has anyone ever caught a spot here? One of the fish was very healthy. She was 18 inches long and weighed in at a little more than 4 pounds. Her mouth was unusually small and had a tooth patch on her tounge. I have never caught a spot before so I am not really sure it even was a spot. I will bring my camera next time. I was fishing under the bridge. Almost all of the fish hit right around the pilings. Fun times!

Me and my kids were there Sat nite and Sunday afternoon. Caught some 2-3 lb. cats Sat, and .... watched ... as a father/son team pulled in 4 really nice LMB. This was while the water was EXTREMELY low, off Legacy by the bank bldg.
I was amazed that they pulled those fish outta there. They had to be at least 3.5 lb'ers
Skunked in several of the finest Texas lakes.

the spots usually have large black 1-2 inch spots and 2or3 of these along the lateral line on the side of the fish and there are spots in the white rock creek watershed just to the west of there so why not there also ??? I've caught them while wade fishing on white rock creek with a Mepps spinner with a silver blade...Good Fishing !!

I have caught many bass out of there, but have never noticed any spots, though it would not surprise me if there were some in there. I have caught plenty of spots in other creeks around Dallas. I almost always fish there at night, so I might not notice if I did catch one. Eric

i was there on Sat night... caught about 10 or so decent LMB, a couple big bream (got one on a 3" crawdad and 1/0 hook) and the big fish of teh nigth was a 16" SAND BASS... i thought i had a carp or a huge LMB the way it was making the drag scream, finally got it in and it was huge, biggest sandy i have ever caught.... i guess somebody stocked a few sandies in there, caught it on a 1/8 oz roostertail

Thanks for the info bjv11. I will be there tomorrow. If anyone else wants to go just come on down. I will bring my spinning tackle to catch sandies if the black bass aren't biting.

well i wouldnt really try to go out just for sandies... i used to fish tehre every other day and now only once a week but this is teh first time i have caught something other than a LMB, bream, or catfish there...
i used to use my baitcaster and jigs, large plastics, etc but now i only use light spinning or ultralight... so much more fun when you land a 3# bass on an UL setup, and so much more variety to catch using smaller lures liek roostertails
