Texoma boat traffic beware as there are a lot of jugs being dispatched near the 377 bridge. We talked to some fellows with a few nice blues at the Shepherd AFB Rec area cleaning station-said not much luck with rod and reel but doing ok with jugs.

I'd bet a dollar if he did he'd leave over half of them jugs at home the next time. A'int nothing but a bunch of work.

When I was using jugs I had 5 with two hooks on each. I used them more as fish finders back before I learned how to read my graph.

These fellows said they had 14 jugs and one had gone missing-maybe submerged with "Jaws" til he tires out-but there were 2 guys using them...

I run a dozen or more ( one hook only ) out of my kayak and just use them almost like rods. I spread them where I can keep an eye on them and chase them down when they get hit. I don't leave them overnight, just while I am there.
Great for testing new baits and filling the box a couple of times year not to mention the exercise chasing those goobers in a kayak..
I actually carry a lot more jugs than that with me, but normally I start getting hit while I am still putting some out. That usually dictates how many I hang. I stay real busy . The other factor is how I am baiting ( dip-bait for boxfish or shad sides for biggies) and what I am hoping to do that day. Hand-lining a ( green) decent blue or mud from a kayak takes a lot longer than yanking it out from my pontoon boat but the bites are much slower coming and I will drop a few extra jugs over the side.
If you run into an old, grey haired, fat dude getting drug across Texoma in a big white kayak, please bring beer and sandwiches. I'll appreciate it.

Carver, I will keep a look out for a kayak with a rooster tail. You jug fish the way I feel it should be done only while you are there. To many jugs get lost by people when they are not there.

You're limited to a max of 100 hooks in the water at a time.

Bwahahahahaha.... I'm the one in the blue kayak but I hug the shore line pretty tight. Them cigar boats and yachts with big waves scur me.... That's why I try to only fish weekdays.

I do this on Lake Arlington, but I will also put some out at dusk and come back at dawn and bring them in. But then Lake Arlington is a much smaller body of water. I've never lost a jug there.

I run a max of 24, they are all single hook lines. 24 is what will fit into the plastic fold-top box that I carry them in. Unlike others, I do not leave my lines out of sight and usually keep them close together, so if you see one of them you will be able to see them all, and you will see me somewhere nearby.
I'm just in search of a way of not coming home smelling like the devils armpit.....

There is nothing wrong with a buy having 90 jugs as long as he follows all rules. Texoma is a slot lake so hopefully he does follow. Goodluck to all
