Looking to get a new rod to go along with my Revo S. I was wondering what the difference is between a Medium and Medium Heavy rod and when to use either one? Any help would be appreciated!

I prefer the m on things like a soft stickbait, wacky rig, weightless rig. things where I use a lighter wire hook. I will also use a M as a crankbait or spinnerbait and sometimes a topwater rod. The MH gets most of my medium to heavy flipping/pitching type work. I also use a MH on spinnerbaits and chatterjigs and also hollow belly swimbaits.

Ok thanks I appreciate it. Just wasn't sure which one would be better for an all around stick. Sounds like I should get both haha

for an all around stick? that would depend on what baits you throw the most often. I would advise MH, I think that should pretty well keep you covered no matter what type of fishing you do. The way I see it is you can always back the drag off a bit to make the MH feel a little softer, but you cant really add more backbone to a M rod.

Depends on what u like throwing. I prefer MH, i mainly throw plastics. The flexibility will very a little depending on the brand that your lookin at.

I have one M rod for topwater poppers and wacky rig; everything else I use MH.

My opinion would be that the best "all around" rod would be the MH, because you can use a medium-heavy rod in the place of a medium rod and get good results (for example, throwing a light wacky rig), but trying to use a medium rod in place of an MH will likely lose you some fish (for example, you can use the backbone of a MH to horse a fish out of heavy grass/cover, where it will be tough to do it with a M).

I like a MH for a versatile, all around rod, but like TXBass, I throw a lot of plastics and jigs.

For cranks and spinnerbaits, I like a Medium action.

Alot of it will depend on the manufactuer of the rods. Each companies will vary in stiffness. Depending on where they get their supply from. Some MH are like H and etc.

Like the others have said, go with a MH for an all purpose rod.
