I've been fishing tournaments for over 20 yrs now have won my share and donated my share as well, but in the last couple of years I've noticed a disturbing trend. UNSAFE BOATING, and somebody is gonna get seriously hurt or killed and its just not worth it. example: Trying to pass on the pipeline on lake palestine going up into kickapooo. STUPID- this happened in the Media team a couple of weeks ago, and if youre reading this you know who you are. If your boat #25 get real your not gonna be the first person in the POND, its not worth getting hurt or hurting someone else. If my wife or child had been in the boat instead of my partner, (not that I dont like my partner) but he's a man. We would have had a bigger problem. This is not going to stop unless we are all responsible for our actions. sorry for the rant. But it needed to be said.

yes, and he was very worried and concerned as well.

It has been getting worse, and it concerns me as well since I fish with my 11 year old son. Crazy thing it is covers all age spectrums, from 50+ to the youngsters. I now just wait and let everybody else go before I take off.

This isn't gonna change by ranting on a forum. As well as fights at the ramp, turning them in to the tournament directors, doing to them what they did to you, etc. Until there is a tragedy and lives are lost on the water, then some tournaments will ban or disquailify those that do it.

All you can do is be an example of a good sportsman. Those people rarely win any tournaments and will do anything to get an edge.

Don't come to Fork in a Media or any of the Big tournies......you may not like what you see.

People don't realize the power of these boats and they don't stop on a dime.....except maybe a lead-sled ranger....hahahhaha Just Kidding.

Had a guy pass me this past weekend on Fork heading up Birch. He ran real close to the tree line for the pass. I understand that I may have been "only" running 50mph or so, but come on!!!

That's why I don't fish tourneys...'cause I like a healthy buzz when I'm on the water. They DQ for stuff like that. I just zoom around the lake with the pedal to the floor making it interesting for all of y'all! Trust me - there's NOTHING like being wasted on the water! I thank the good Lord every day for Wild Turkey and the 250 Merc.

When you guys fish brush piles, I'm hauling hawgs off a mountain of bourbon bottles I've sunk down by the dam! 1 bottle every Saturday for the last 6 or so years...I'd say that's a hill of bottles, brother!
