Had this post on the Boats and Motors but probably should have posted it here instead:
Just installed my LSS-1 and HDS 8 on my 1860 CC G3 aluminum boat. Running a 90 2-stroke Yamaha without a jack plate. Trying to figure out transducer placement.
Anyone have pics of transducer placement that works well on a G3?
Going to use a pad/stern mate to mount my ducers on since I have to put something between the aluminum and stainless anyway. Obviously the skimmer for the HDS needs to be even with the hull and not behind a rib/chine. Was sort of wanting to get the LSS 'ducer up a little higher to minimize impacts from stumps/logs (fish and duck hunt in some nasty areas) as I am a little worried about ruinning the 'ducer and they are expensive to replace!
Maybe just mount the 'ducers on the stern mate and test on the water for optimum placement of the stern mate before I mount it.
