Does anyone know if you can get to any area around the lake arlington dam on foot? Trying to find a better place to go when other areas get crowded on the weekends. any info would be apreciated. Steve, God Bless America

Other than that grassy area around behind the Yacht Club I haven't seen anyone in that area bank fishing. Just on the piers there at Simpson Park.

you can fish off the i-20 bridge in the canal area.
I would rather have a bad day fishing, than a good day at the office!

Don't park under the bridge. Good way to lose everything in your car, I'm told.
No way to get to the dam on foot -- or even close to it. Need a good sit-on-top fishing kayak (like the Wildnerness Tarpon 140 with fishing rudder for $950 from Mountain Sports in Arlington) or the Ocean Prowler 15. Just make sure you get one with a rudder. However, I would not take a kayak out on that lake during the day when the skiers are out -- especially near the dam. the dam seems to amplify (double) the strength of the waves because of them bouncing back off of it. I know, I tried it.
