You may just want to launch at FM 3445 bridge where it crosses the San Miguel and just head up/down. The ramp is not great but usable.

Yes, look for the brown Daughtry WMA turnoff sign, go down a couple of miles and the road will cross the creek. There is a useable ramp along the side of the bridge.
