What do some of you guys think the lake will be like this weekend coming up. Myself and a couple of guys that have never been there are coming down so they can get a taste of what a great lake is. I am guessing it will warm some due to the weather this week is going to be nice. I am hoping that the bite will pick up and I am hearing that there are some ready to spawn and a lot of males in the shallows already. Any suggestions?

Lots of pressure and two tournaments (sat & sun) going on so probably not going to get a lot of info. Just a heads up

Bite should still be good. Plenty of fish.

This is my dock! The lake is low and the small fish are biting. I caught fish on rattle traps and bushhogs. I think in a way the lake being low will help anglers that don't come to fork much. Do be safe once you leave the boat lanes. Getting into some areas is dodge the stumps!! Shoot me a PM and I'll tell you what I know for know! In about 3 weeks I see it turning on big time!! If the weather holds!! Should be a interesting spawn if the lake stays low.

ok guys just got back from the lake.....Sunday....wind was manageable until around noon then it started blowing 15-20 at least...fished the upper creeks on the east arm and caught 12-15 in the 2-6lb range and broke off two that wrapped me up, all on jigs in 2-6ft of water....had to be on a creek or drain leading into flats to get bit. They were hammering the jig big time when they bit. BTW the grass is basically gone so the trap bite is not like years past but there is a little grass on the main lake, caney and up in the west arm creeks in the usual areas and what I know of is in the middle of all this wind. Fish are really just moving up so you should be able to catch a few and it looks to be warm all week. Temps on main lake were 52-53 and the backs of the creeks and on the flats were 58-62. I also tried a spinner bait, chatter bait, red trap and CR in the same area and did not get bit....I chunked a spinnerbait, chatterbait and trap past the same stump on a little bend and then followed up with a jig and got bit so I put everything else up the rest of the day.

Hey guys I thank you for the initial info, and the pm's. Are the boat lanes still safe to run in?

the marked ones appear to be fine.....I have been from the back of Birch all the way to the back of Glade actually running in the past few weeks and have not hit anything.... smile or heard of any issues. I have heard the guide lanes on some of the chips have stumps popping up in them. Just take it slow once you leave the main cleared lanes and do not cut any of the corners like you do when the lake is up.....

Bouy to bouy should be safe, beyond that I'll quote blazing saddles. "Son, you're on your own"
