I was out fished by my 10 year old today, and loved it. I wouldnt mind if it happened every time out. I tourney fish and he wanted me to show him what it was like. He's first and only fish was about a 5-6lbr.( 22 inches) We pit the cull on him and tossed him in the live well. Then i landed a chunky 14", put the cull on him and tossed him in the live well. This dude was pumped up about his fish and we were hootin and hollaring with high fives and big smile. After about 30 minutes he opened the live well and said" Dad, i think my fish had a baby....oh no he didnt thats your fish.Funny!funny, i said. then he wanted me to put my fish in the other live well because he said that he's was going to eat mine!! Those were the only tw0 landed, and he wanted to donate it to BassPro.

Tell your son congrats. It's fun putting a whupin on the old man. But now that my dad is getting up there in years, my mind has changed. I now love it when he puts a whupin on me. I guess I owe it to him for all the trips he has taking me on and put up with all the stuff I do. Enjoy every minute with him that you can. It builds memories that he will never forget. He'll remember that trip when he's 80.

My son is 24 and still rubs it in about the day he caught fish and I didn't catch one/any/zilch. He was 9 when that happened.

Bought my first boat (XPRESS H-18 with Yammy 150) and our first trip out he caught a 2 lbr. Then took my 5 year old bream fishing and he caught his first fish; high fives on both trips all around. Memories will last a lifetime.

I remember my grandfather taking me fishing all the time when I was little. The fishing bug bit me then and has never left.
