My buddies were out there in airport today and they said it was real tough. They fished most of the afternoon and only manage a pair each. They said the water temp dropped about 5 degrees from last saturday as well. Give it a few days and it should come back around..

Before the rain on Thursday we caught a really nice bag. It would have been better but we were getting our hooks mangled. Going out this afternoon. The conditions are looking up if the temp jumps a bit.

I only had a couple hours to fish this afternoon so I went to Airport again (close to home). I caught two, only one being a keeper and it came right off the ramp on my way in. Both on square bill crank.

Cool deal. I might try somewhere on the other side of the lake tomorrow morning, not sure though, it will depend on the wind. Was also considering trying on the river from the MCC ramp. Is the bass fishing any good out there?

Never fished the river. I always thought about it. With the wind the way it is suppose to be might not be a bad option.

The MCC ramp is an easy launch. I haven't fished the river in years so my info is old, but I had better luck downsizing. Try smaller spinnerbaits, cranks and topwaters. Those shallow squarebills should be fine; didn't know about those then. We had good luck on large Beetlespins and H&H Spinners. Be careful around Lovers Leap, as people have been known to throw rocks at you when you are on the water (no kidding). Good luck, Cliff. Looking forward to a report.

Thanks for the info. I am not really familiar with that area, which way should I go from the ramp? Is there some decent bass in there, I thought I read somewhere that the bass record for that river was 2lbs or something. Anyway if I do go to the river I will definetly post about the trip.

Focus on the rocky parts of the bank, along the river. And, there are absolutely bigger fish than 2 lbs out there. I caught a white bigger than that downtown last week and had a friend of mine catch a 4.5 large mouth in a similar spot.

Excellent, the way it looks for the wind, that will be my best option.

Decided to go to koehne Ramp this morning for a few hours. I only managed two on a squarebill again, one dink and one about 2lbs, pretty much the same as yesterday. Would have been a great trip if I didn't lose a Lucky Craft that I just bought yesterday. I cried a little.

Ayyy! That'll hurt for sure. Put some braid on and you shouldn't ever lose another one.

It was braid...50# test too. Got hung on something and just couldn't seem to pop it loose. I have hardly lost a bait since I started fishing from a boat. I can usually get them free. It must have been really stuck cuz a short bit later I bent a Gammy Heavy Cover Flippin hook out straight trying to free it. Same line. I had another of the same bait so I tied it on and continued fishing.
