How many viewers were flipping channels and said "Look! A fishing show! Think I'll watch it. I don't fish but...." and then were turned off by the promopremo?
C'mon guys, we are self oriented but our world really develops due to us, not ESPN. 2pm on ESPN2? The classic was fill-in since there wasn't a golf tourney going on.

you're probably right, really, but still- I just don't understand why they (ESPN) would go that route. Seems like there was lots of better footage they could've chosen.

I think maybe they are trying to take the some of the southern flavor out of the fishing shows to make them more appealing to larger populations back east. That would explain Zona and Summers and possibly the big emphasis on Ike.

Did BASS change presidents or GM or something?

I agree on picking better footage.
Heck, I can even understand showing some of what they showed. All of us who fish can understand getting stoked when you swing a big fish in, catch that one that puts you over the top or even just landing number five but to show the same ones over and over and over and over and over....etc.... Your right, surely there is more in the archives than that.
And yes longeye, there have been some big changes with BASS lately. Apparently tasteful editing wasn't one of them, lol.

Whats everyones thoughts on the content of the actual show, better? Haven't got the chance to catch it yet but the coverage had gotten really stale as of last year, so far I have not been too impressed with some of the changes by the new owners, they removed alot of web content from the website and espn3, and the new announcer needs to go.

They seem to be covering a lot more anglers and showing more fishing. Less drama and theatrics in my opinion. I can't find a complaint on the coverage so far.

Thought it was just me til I seen this post,the intro most definately stunk.

Please tell me you guys are not talking about the intro that had Ike and KVD going back and forth with "never give up" and "game time".... That was freakin awesome...
