Step son put kayak in at 281 just outside of Three Rivers under the road. First of all it is not a good place to launch. There is a twenty foot hill to slide down. He put in anyway. Headed down current toward airport. Shallow water a lot of the way. Rapids three or four times down never fished them. Got to log jam limbo*d his way thru. Got to huge log jam had to get out go around on land. Found nice current shortly after and a whirlpool. Fished it. Fish immediately hooked up. Got forty threw back another ten or fifteen. We thought we could make it to the rapids that we fish from Airport it is not closer went at least another mile and still did not hit them. He turned around at four pm ended up paddling two hours in pitch black dark could not see three feet. Scary. Good thing he had a friend with him. Did not make it back to vehicle till ten WOW. Probably should have fished first shallow water close to 281 will try next time. All fish 100% were male even the big ones.

Just a question?
Have ya'll ever seen the size of some of them gators in the Nueces or the water moccasins, the cotton mouth variety?
Glad he made it out safe and didn't have any problems, but as the weather warms the crawling critters will be even more plentiful and aggressive.
Just food for thought!
Just one more cast!
