Mouth, I'll see ya out there @ 7:45 or so. Look for a dude in a black acura wearing a blue superman visor and carrying a blue bag. I was there yesterday about the same time and just before dark they were schooling all over the place. I could only manage to land 10 or so 10-12 inchers. Nothing real big but totally fun to catch! Rudy, come out! I haven't fished with you for a long time. It's been at least 6 months since we fished at the spillway near Texas Stadium. Hope to see ya there!

how long did they stay on the surface last night? I had to leave at 8:15 because it went dead. I had to kinda walk through the woods, and I already killed two snakes that day, didn't want to see anymore in the dark. I'd hate to get into my car with a snake attached to my leg.
I don't really know what to type here.

Went out last night, met Rudy and Kevin, I was the guy heading back to Chicago. It was a nice way to spend my last eve in TX. In case you were wondering, we have jet ski problems up there too. We also have lake police and wardens that ticket for making a wake within 100 yards of shore or anchored boat by way of a jetski. I was hoping larger lures would make for larger sandies, but I could only get the ones with real good or real bad aim (depending on your persprective). Well thanks for all the fishin help along the way TFFers! If you ever venture up to WI check out www.Lake-Link.com that's our forum full of good info as well. Oh and the most important thing I learned in TX, Only use Danny Kings for catfish, man that stuff is good. I have 2 gallons getting shipped up north as we speak. Good Luck everyone!

Hey Bloogle, What part of Chicago are you heading? I was born and raised in Oak Park. If you go to WI, try Lake Wisconsin in Lodi. Great Walleye/sauger and white bass.

The vast majority of snakes at GV are harmless water snakes, no need to kill them. I fish that lake ALL the time, and have never had a problem with snakes. I've fished with them in the water right in front of me, and crawling on the rocks all around my shoes, and they never bother me. Just steer clear of 'em and you'll be fine lol.
Anyway, try to hit the point next time. It's well traveled enough lately that you probably won't see any snakes there anyway.

Lol, well if you follow that train of thought, I'm pretty sure ANY chopped up animal works for catfish!

Had a good time last night! Allot of Guys out there wading that water up to there chest ( not sure why) I took Jeff's advice and stayed on the point while all these guys were chaseing them up and down the shore I think I caught more then them in that hour by just staying on the point this one guy was up to his chest in the water chasing the fish but I only seen him with a few. I used the Rooster tail this time it worked flawlessly I had 9 by the time 9:00pm rolled around and then it slowed down and I left.
I met a guy out there from this board I cant remember his screen name he told me but IM not that great at remembering big o long screen names.
But if you read this Dude! Have Fun in Guam, and thank you for fishing with me I needed the company!

I was out there too--I talked to you briefly mouth until the fish schooled to the right of us, then I scrammed. We'll catch up later, maybe tonight or something. I was wondering if those swimmer guys were catchin em, they had fish baskets tied to their waists, what troopers. They were running around like a hurricane was coming. I got wet up to my knees because my rooster was hung up so I thought what the heck, lets stay in the water and cool the feet down. Didn't land any keepers but they were a load of fun. I will never get tired of catching fish like that. The guys to the right were trying for cats off the bottom, I left at ten or so and they were still there, wonder if they caught anything? Didn't look like they were doing anything but trying to catch stuff with the cast net.
I don't really know what to type here.

Yea those Dudes in the water were nuts MAN! They didnt catch squat they had on the wrong lures and I felt bad and gaveem two keepers I caught one of which I was gonna throw back but he had swallowed the lure and it took minor surgery to get the dam thing out...so I told dude you want it you take it off!..lol...he sure did!! lol but yeah the guy chest deep caught two that I seen not much else but they were there after I left...sure would like to know if those guys caught any cats too maybe I will make a bucket of chum and go out there one of these early morning to see if any are out there.
Im still thinking Lake Lavons dam has to be good for something big! Hope someone has some feedback for me!
