i live around bowie and it sounds like a great idea to me, and i would also suggest amon g carter lake, its a great lake for small boats i have fished the whole fishing side many of times in one day in my 10ft john boat, its justs small enough to where you only need a trolling motor to get anywhere on the fishing side of the lake, the boat ramp is in perfect location, so you can hit great fishing holes right when you hit the water.... let me know what you think.. thanks

I would want to consider alot of things, we would then have to do an electronic / paper tournament and concentrate on what scales people use, etc...
How do you do this? Do you weigh a weight prior to leaving out and make sure everyones scales are accurate?
I am thinking Central Texas is our target, 2 hours from the Waco area, at least to start to keep it in a central location...if it happens to turn into something, then branch out.

i say we just set a date and time...meet at the ramp and go fishing. Set a time to meet back at ramp, shoot the breeze about the fishing day and go from there. This way maybe we at least get an idea about interest.

Bump,
I'm thinking about in the next month having everyone meet up and just fish one day, then talkin about the details of the club after that day. Kinda get an interest, meet everyone, and see where we can go with it.
Id like to do this at Lake Brazos in Waco. Meet at the MCC ramp. It's a good small craft location and one I have never actually fished.
Who would be interested in doing this on the 19th of March from like safe light to noon?

I am actually goinig to set something up for dfw area this weekend and post on here. With gas prices as high as they are, its to hard to drive to waco and back.
I am thinking giving everybody poker chip, and you must take pic of fish weight and length with chip in pic...
Or like you said just meet up and see who all is intrested..
Small boats with less than 5 hp motor only...
Then maybe if we both get them going we can fish sometimes at same lake for a big turnout..

I'd be in for a DFW tourney, I have a 12' jon boat with a 5hp motor, so that sounds perfect.

I am looking at starting a similar thing in the Austin/San Antonio Area. As mentioned b4 $3 a gallon makes it too tough to go to waco on a regular basis, but a championship tournament or something where we all meet up would be cool. I'll start a new post as to not jack this one.

I am in for the Waco one. I know the ramp your referring to but have never fished it either. I thought I heard somewhere that the bass fishing on that river was no good. Either way I am in for sure.
