I live in The Colony and would love to do some good bank fishing around Lake Lewisville until I have my own boat. Anyone know any good spots on the bank or the names of and/or how to get to any of the creeks where the whites might be running? I would appreciate any help.

Thanks!

I live in The Colony as well. I was out at Greenbelt Corridor/380 on Saturday and didn't get a bite. PM me if you're interested and want to go scout for some bank fishing locations.

Here, see if this helps.

DFW Bank Fishing Map

Also, feel free to update it with new spots you find - that's what it's there for.

Good Luck!

I also live in the Colony and am lacking in the boat dept. I have fished at Doe Branch Park the last couple of weekends, lots of bank access if you don't mind walking.

Hickory creek is the best place to go near the colony, lots of whites in there.

Hickory creek is on the west side of Lake Lewisville.
I guess it's kind of close. Doe creek, panther creek, navo, and the greenbelt are all decent spots at the right time of year. bank access at any of those places is all going to be hit or miss.

Navo can be fished from at 380 or north of there at the end of fishtrap road. googlemaps is your friend.

@Basshoe - thanks - created it for bank fishermen like us. Us bankfishermen have to stick together!

You guys that are fishing the Greenbelt Park - are you catching sandies or crappie this time of year?

Also where on Hickory creek is there decent bank access?

Greenbelt = you can catch all of the above, and hybrids. There is 12 mile biking hiking trail from 380 all the way to the RR dam.

Hickory creek has access by old alton bridge and closer to the lake at the mouth of the creek by the new bridge built that extends 2499 up to 2181(which is swisher rd/teasley ln)

Great, thanks. Have fished the OAB area a few times; didn't catch anything. Have also scouted the Greenbelt - really pretty area up that way.

Also haven't been to the area by the new 2499 bridge. Looks like that is pretty close to Pilot Knoll park. Have to give it a try.

Thanks. thumb

I tried fishing this area last weekend and didnt get anything. I was using live minnows and curly white tail grubs and not a thing.

Thanks for the help. The map is great. I will try to hit some of those spots and see if maybe I can add a few of my own if I hit anything good.

little poindexter creek that feeds into the lake on the south side of pilot knoll is nice little cove to fish. not sure about bank access, but it's out of the wind, and far enough back you only have a few idiots on wakeboards when it warms up. It's also a 30 second boat ride from the ramp there!
