This store is supposed to be a departure from other stores in that it won't be as big and will not have as diverse a selection as the one in Ft. Worth. Looking forward to have an alternative to Academy on this side of town.

They will sell Ranger Boats, and have a service dept. They will also have as much selection as Ft. Worth.

I've got a good friend that will be working there and have confirmed all of this.

Don't KNOW about boats to be sold ,but I think they will do about thing as the Ft. Worth store. I met the service manager for the Allen store last week at the Ft. Worth store. Also they are advertising to hire boat mechanic and riggers.

I believe BTM is correct. I heard this week that they will have boats and service. I believe R.B. is going to be the service manager. Just what I heard.

They have the boat lift outside the building already. Would think this means they are gonna sell boats.

The Allen Store is the standard 100,000 sq ft building for Cabela's. Most newer stores are around this size. The Ft. Worth store is 230,000 sq ft and is the 2nd largest in the Cabela's chain. I haven't seen exactly what will be in the Allen store, but I'd bet it will pretty much be the same as Ft. Worth, only on a smaller scale. For those closer to Allen than Ft. Worth, it will be a great place to receive your internet/catalogue orders via In Store Pickup (ISP), with NO SHIPPING CHARGES. Given the size of Allen, they can't physically carry all the merchadise shown in the catalogues/internet (neither can we at Ft. Worth), but with ISP, it's great help.

I dont understand why Cabelas or Bass Pro will not build a store in the southern part of the metroplex. We now have far north Fort Worth ,Grapevine,Rockwall,and now Allen? I live in Granbury and they are all at least an hour away. It would be nice to have something down around I-20 in Arlington.

Any word on the grand opening deals yet? Also, there is an In N Out Burger opening down the street from the new Cabela's... if you needed an extra reason to head that way.

Love it! You could LIVE in that complex and never travel over 300 yards for anything you would ever need!

My fishing partner is the fishing manager at the new store. Trasfered from the Ft Worth store. Kyle has told me they are catering more to the people in the area. It will have a lot larger fishing department than the Ft Worth store. Everyone stop in, and look for some good deals on opening day.
