I was wanting to get involved starting or being involved in getting a small boat club in the central Texas area. I really want to just put this out there to see what kind of interest there is.
Jon boats, busters, boats of this nature.
Anyways, if this would be something of interest to you, just respond in this thread. If we have a decent amount of interest, maybe we can get something started in the near future, if not, then we wont...ha

I am in, if there is any interest. I tried to get just a single tournament going last summer and there wasn't a lot of interest. Hopefully maybe now there is more. Count me in!

I'd fish it and could probably help with the planning if you need any (pm me). Several people have tried and failed to get this going. I think you just got to go for it and see who shows up and then go from there. I would also open it up to kayakers.
For lake suggestions I would include Beorne Lake, and Lady Bird Lake, they are trolling motor only.

One of the big problems I ran into when I tried this last year is the lack of livewells on some of these smaller crafts. Kinda makes it difficult to have a proper tournament.

Make everybody carry a digital camera. give them a chip and make sure the chip is visible on the scale pic, and then on the ruler pic.. I have seen this done before on bank fishing tourneys One of the big problems I ran into when I tried this last year is the lack of livewells on some of these smaller crafts. Kinda makes it difficult to have a proper tournament.

Yea I just competed in a bank tourney this past weekend, and we were given a notecard that day with code on it. We had to take a pic of the fish with the card visible, worked pretty well. I just wish if we were fishing our of small boats that there was a way to make it a weight tourney, the bank tourney was all about length.

Sounds like there is enough information to maybe give it a shot. It would be neat to make it a club or some sort and meet once every month or two to converse about things.
Everyone that will do this if it happens, why dont you send me a pm with your name, number, and email.
We would probably try to keep it as central part of texas as we can so its central to everyone, and then if we ever do get it going, we can branch out a little.
