What is it about lizard baits that bass like, they don't really feed on them do they?? They seem to be pretty popular. Also gonna pick some up tonight, what colors you guys like? Gonna get the Berkley ones. Do you fish them like a worm??

A bass will eat just about anything it can shove in its mouth.

I've done best with simple green-pumpkin or watermelon flavored lizards.

How do you like to fish it??

I am pretty sure that there are amphibians that spend the spring in the water as part of their life cycle and the bass feed on them.

Lizards are super easy to fish. I like to fish with on a 3/0 or 4/0 EWG hook weightless. I just rig one on and throw it out. I left it sit for a few seconds and just slowly reel it in. It will stay just under the surface.

Bass love'em. I prefer the Zoom Lizards myself. The 8 inch magnum lizards are my favorite this time of year.

throw a live waterdog near a bass's bed and watch what happens... LOL! they are a natural predator of the bass eggs.

we used to clean the leaves off our bankline at cypress springs each early spring... the leaves that were at the water's edge always had salamander/waterdawg looking aquatic lizards all in them. big ones too! we would pick them up and toss them way out in the cove LOL!

Lizards are made to repesent water dogs or salamanders not actually lizards. Salamanders feed on fish eggs bass and salamanders like ronnie said are natural enemys

It's been proven that lizards (really salamanders) eat fish eggs. For a bass guarding a bed, a lizard is enemy #1. It won't try to pick it up and move it, it will nail it. Plus bass eat lizards when any chance arises, they're a natural food source for the bass.

IMO, the best bedding bass bait known to man.

I was told once that lizard feed on bass eggs. so they are a natural enemy. I'm not sure how true this is but it seemed very valid. Its really my favorite thing to throw even year round for some reason I have luck with them. had a buddy tell me once that I was the only one he's ever seen catch bass consistently in winter on lizards. which I took as a compliment because he was a good stick. It depends where exactly you are using them but for me around north east Texas I have the best result with LFT lizards in black/ blue flek. greens and blues do alright for me also. I T-rig them or shakey head. alot of people like to c-rig them. I don't but thats only because c-rigging and me don't seem to get along very well. Whether I'm out on the water and have several set ups rigged up or walking a bank with just two rods, you can bet on I'll have a lizard tied on one of those rods.
