Good tool! The resolution isn't all that great, but it does plenty well at showing underwater structure. I would highly recommend it.

I havn't tried the Rod Mount, but I have no problems with the Wrist Mount, except I wish it actually had a watch built in...would it have been so tough for them to include a timepiece?

There is a third kind - the RF10 model with a mobile station. Has a surprisingly large display for its size, but fits nicely on my tube. I will try it out for the first time at Purtis Creek 3/19&20.
Will let you know how it works.

Hey kkathan,
I see you are in Houston. Any suggestions on good creeks or small bodies of water to take a kayak?

Coach,
I have been trying for years here to find some good places close to me in NW Houston area and I have come to the conclusion that there are none. I have been thinking about a kayak lately and think that one would do good on Lake Houston or Fayette or Sommerville.
Sorry I do not have much info on kayaks.

I tried the RF 10 this weekend at Purtis and am very impressed!! Several times as the unit beeped and beeped from the fish alarm, I dropped my rig and caught a fish so I know it is accurate. Several boats came up and inquired and said their depth finder read the same depth as mine. Clear, large display and easy to use.
I could not recommend this product more!!!!
It and the white flukes helped to land at least 25 fish on Friday and Saturday! The wind was blowing, but we were tubing in the cove opposite of the lake from the ramp which was fairly calm.

I was in Houston this week and went to BPS over in Katy. Was talking with the guy in the fly fishing area and asked if he had any reports from people using the "PHAT TUBE". I was informed that not many people have the wavo's to fish from tubes in that area due to aligators. Shed some light on the subject if you can. I'm not afraid of snakes but an aligator might be a different story.
