Found them Friday up in Denton creek. Looks like it is just starting. Hit and miss. Ended up with 19, 10 keepers. Should be better in a few weeks.

Ukenoe, How far up the creek did you have to go?

About half way to 3/4 the way to the new dam. Found them on some deeper stretches. Not much by the Trophy Club launch, nor close up to the dam. Most of the slower stretches and bends were full of trash (weeds, sticks and such) Lots of folks on the bank trying though. There was so much noise and machinery working that I'm sure that was also a factor. I'm sure it will get easier once we get a little rain to flush all that [censored] out.

Yeah, the dam is no longer much of an issue. They finished laying their pipe, (no pun intended) and have since opened it back up. We parked on 377 on the north side, walked about 2 miles east then south past the "dam" and caught 15 whites, and 2 crappie on several different colored sassy shad yesterday, and today we landed 6 whites. kind of hit and miss in most spots, I dont think they've really started staging yet. Hopefully the next few weekends will explode like it did last year.
