Buddy and I are bringing our wives (from upper midwest) to LOP to fish crappie the last week of March and first week of April ...to mix it up a little, we wouldn't mind trying our luck on some Whites,Hybreds.and or Stripers ..

Any suggestions on where we might find 'em that time of year, what to use for bait and how to fish for them?

Thanks in advance, I love this forum

I cant tell ya for sure, but I dont think there are any sand bass to speak of in LOP. No striper have ever been stocked there. They did stock hybrid until 2000, but I dont think they did well and they cant really reproduce. If any at all are still alive, they would be 11 years old. That would be really old for a hybrid.

Here's a link to the TPWD - LOP stocking page:

dock in at the lone star boat ramp on hwy 259 and go up river...SLOW!! turn your graph on and follow the creek channel....and i cant stress enough to take it slow...its bad but the fishing is great...also make your way to the small rock dam and tie off to the tree thats right in front of the dam and you should catch a limit real quick
