Here is the tournament schedule for the fall:

9/27--Amon Carter (Great spot--heavy timber, clear roadbed, creek channels, almost 0 boat traffic! Directions forthcoming)

10/4--Grapevine (Twin Coves)

10/18--Black Creek (Caddo/LBJ Nat'l. Grasslands)

11/1--Joe Pool (Location TBA)

11/15--Clear Lake (Caddo/LBJ Nat'l. Grasslands)

All tournaments will begin when there is sufficient light to ensure safety and will end at noon.

Directions to specific tournament headquarters and individual lake regulations will be posted ASAP.

Tournaments will still be $25 to enter, $10 for big bass. Payouts will remain the same.

In other news...

--We have decided to put off the formal creation of the Lone Star Float Tube Association until February.

--We are looking into creating a club website, and will post information as soon as it is available.

--We have also discussed having events that do not focus on only largemouth, such as bream, crappie, or sandbass tournaments.

The plan is to create a group which emphasizes FUN and FISHING, with a little friendly competition thrown in for good measure. We want to keep the dues cheap, have some social events (fishing trips, of course), meet occasionally to discuss tubin' and share ideas, and, of course, hold tournaments. Fishinaddiction is working on a few sponsors, who would help with publicity costs, prizes, etc. Anyone who has suggestions or questions is encouraged to post them or email me, Kelly Denham, or Fishinaddiction.

I was wanting to fish this weekend at Amon. I have never been involved in one of these tourneys or have spoke to anyone in the group. I love this site and the opportunity to fish with other tubers. Can someone please give me more info on how I can get more involved.
Thanks,
Joflo

We talked about it this weekend, but didn't set anything in stone for people who haven't been there.

If you'll meet us at the convenience store at FM1655 in Alvord, we'll leave there and head for the lake by 6am. That will be plenty of time to get there, get rigged and launch by safe light.

FM1655 is the 2nd exit in Alvord, on Hwy 287. The convenience store on the right is the only thing at the intersection if I remember correctly.

We'd love to have you join us.

BTW, don't worry about missing the pre-fishing this past weekend. We weren't able to veryify any kind of pattern, and I blanked for the morning out of my bassbuster. You definitely won't be at a disadvantage!

You'll need a livewell also. You can buy one at Academy or BassProshops. They look live a net zip-tied to a styrofoam floating ring. Clip this to the float tube, and you're set.

I am fairly new to tube fishing and I love it! I would love to get in on some tournaments with you guys or just have some partners to fish with. My regular partner Terry is a med student and can't always get away on short notice. Keep me posted

Next tourney is this Sat. at Grapevine. If you wanna fish it, put up a post and we'll get directions to you. The launch site is at the back of Twin Coves.

$25 to enter, plus $10 Big Bass sidepot.

Is anyone planning to fish tomorrow? It is at Black Creek, which is up close to Clear Lake in the Grasslands. I have a family workday planned at my Grandma's house, but I'll show up late if I need to fish.

I won't be there. Jennifer had her 2nd knee surgery yesterday, so I'll be playing Doctor again all weekend.
