Does any one have any idea if there are brush piles on Medina Lake? Has the TPWD ever put brush piles or fish attractors on that lake?
I live 20 minutes from the lake and went there for a few hours to work some new stuff on the boat. I never knew it but that lake held the state record bass for a really long time. 13.5 pounder back in the 1950's! Texas native bass at that. I wonder what that lake could do if they put more structure in it?
Lots of crappie in the lake. Crappie spells out HUGE bass if they both survive in the lake.
Any one know of a club around the lake that might have info on structure or brush piles?

Ya, I'd like to know as well. I fish that lake all the time with almost zero luck.
It's good to know about the crappie. Did you catch any? Where/how?

I caught 2 really skinny 2 pound size bass on a drop shot on a rocky point that had a good drop off into really deep water. I had a monster crappie hit the drop shot but the hooked pulled out before I could boat the fish. Wasn't expecting the crappie?? So I changed to a old road runner I had in the boat...I bass fish I don't keep a lot of crappie gear in the boat...Well I had 4 large crappie in the boat in about 1 hour on that point then they cut off and nothing else. I think minnows would be the ticket.
I saw lots of fish on the graph but I think they were cats or crappie.
The point was close to a real tall bluff on the southern side.

There are many brushpiles on the lake made by fisherman but few will be willing to give up information. Too many jackpot tournaments on the lake. There are no formal brushpiles made by TP&W that I am aware of. Best bet is to sink your own. The lake can fluctuate 40' in a given year so many have brush in all sorts of depths.

I fish medina often and Skeeter 250 is right. There are no brushpiles made by TP&W that I'm aware of but there are some in the lake that are put there by fisherman.
