I'm looking to get on the water. I need something that will perform well with 300 lbs + gear. I don't really know the benefits of kick vs paddle. What would yall suggest? I'd like to keep it under $700. Thanks in Advance. Flame away...

I can't help you much with this but it is a scientifically proven fact that fat people are more bouyant than skinny people so let that be some encouragement to you while you decide on a kayak.

Could look at WS Ride 135 or the Heritage Redfish 12 or 14 I know they are right around that price if you get em used or last years model. There are many more, look for a wide beam mostly

If it ain't broke, fix it till it is.

OK Malibu 2 xl is one of the cheapest options. Last I looked they were going for under $600 new at bass pro. They will hold 400 - 500 lbs. They are quite stable and the mother ship of YaknYota which is a pretty good recommendation alone.

IMO currently among the finest certainly. Comfy seat, but not easily paddled. Tank on & off the water. Heavy but Stable on the water. Will still turtle (flip) but not easy. Get sideways in the surf & they all turtle.

Question:
Is a Cobra Fish n Dive

easier to paddle than a
OK BigGame? & Is the OK BigGame a "Drier Ride"?

I'm 6'2" 250lbs and I have a Ocean Kayak Endeavor. But my rear stays wet half of the time. I wish i would have gotten a yak that might ride higher in the water with my weight. If there is such a thing?

That was more of an answer to Shaun about being dry.
