It's a bluegill redbreast hybrid (L.macrochirus x L. auritus). Its already been answered. BDDD got it right and won himself a new fishing rod.

Did you verify the DNA? With hybrids it's about the only way you can tell for sure. Second generation hybrids are almost non-existent in natural environments.

Rowdy, I hope you did something useful with all of the fish you killed in your signature pic. I hate seeing any resource go to waste. They all make great sport to be caught over and again when left alive.
