Mike I buy my Solid and split rings from Kil Song who posts here and on all the other boards. They're reasonably priced and they get them to you real fast. The rings are listed by pound test, I think, so you can judge the size for yourself. JignPop.com

Ha ha, gonna sound like a rookie, but I am....What size "split ring" to connect the treble hooks to the lure....I see a variety of sizes...#5, #8, etc....
Thanks! Owner Hyperwire size 8 or 9 will be fine. Or Shout Size 7 split rings work as well.

I use the SPRO #7 (185#) on the 3/0 treble. Never had a failure, and the 50 pac is cheap and available everywhere.
On smaller baits I use the #6 (150#) SPRO

Looks like Willie may have been right. There's a proposal to CONSIDER extending snapper season. Don't get too excited yet, but it is more hopeful than I expected.

I certainly am glad to see the trip filling up. As a first time offshore rookie I will have that many more to pick their brains about how and what to do plus I will need to rent equipment/lures from anyone willing to do so. I am looking forward to it. I have spent all morning trying to find lodging for the 4 females that are coming with me. It used to be so simple to get a room, you picked up the phone and called, now you have to go thru a call center and deal with who ever & where ever.
