Quisdraw and I caught about 25 whites on Thursday plus one striper and one gasper goo and one of those pretty bluegill. I wasted about 4 hours trolling downstream but I wanted to test the range on my canoe and trolling motor. We trolled about 6-7 miles down and back and caught 10 and then caught about 15 in the last hour at the park just upstream from the boat ramp. If we had stayed around the park area we would have caught more I feel confident. Everybody on the water was catching something. Only saw two bank anglers but no report from them. Beautiful day and good company.

Anybody been out since this recent cold weather? Any Crappies or whites being caught? The upcoming weekend 70-degree temps are looking good. I'm thinking about driving up from Austin. Are there alot of River minnows, and/or a good place to seine them there? Or should I stop in Lampasas and buy a few dozen?

Where can you buy minnows in Lampasas?

Yes, if the water's high enough the fishing can be very good, and there's plenty of bank access.

The little store at Bend has minnows. I still think it is a little early for the whites to start running. I think the last cold snap will put if off for a couple more weeks...

Go luck to all that give it a shot!

It's been a couple years but I used to buy them at the "Brown's Store" out on Hwy 190 going to Copperas Cove. I haven't been there since the 2009 spawn.

Id like to know that also, but that aint gonna stop me no matter what the report is. I have a camp spot booked, will be there early friday morning with my 'yak and even though the whites may not be in full force yet, a couple weeks ago the crappie were, so I bet thats still the case. Will give yall a report sunday night when I get back.
